Instructions
- Infuse the Cardamom Cream: Combine heavy cream and crushed cardamom pods in a small saucepan. Heat over low heat until gently simmering, then remove from heat, cover, and let steep for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to infuse completely.
- Strain and Flavor the Cream: Pour the infused cream through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl, pressing lightly on the solids and discarding them. Stir in the rose water and gently warm if needed before frothing.
- Prepare the Matcha Base: Sift the matcha powder into a small bowl or mug to remove any clumps. Add 30 ml of hot water (75ยฐC) and whisk vigorously until a smooth paste forms. Add the remaining 120 ml hot water and maple syrup, then stir until dissolved and a light froth appears.
- Froth the Cream Topping: Using a milk frother, froth the warm cardamom-rose infused cream until light, airy, and forming soft peaks.
- Assemble and Garnish: Pour the sweetened matcha base into a glass. Gently spoon or pour the frothed cream on top to create a distinct layer. Sprinkle with crushed dried rose petals and ground cardamom before serving.
