Ingredients
- 225g (8oz) Bartlett pears, sliced
- 100g (3.5oz) herbed cheese, crumbled
- 50g (1.8oz) walnut halves, toasted
- 30ml (2 tbsp) extra-virgin olive oil
- 15ml (1 tbsp) lemon juice
- 10ml (2 tsp) honey
- 0.5 tsp saffron threads, steeped in 15ml (1 tbsp) warm water
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Mint leaves, torn
- Optional: edible flower petals
Instructions
- Steep Saffron: Steep saffron threads in warm water for 5 minutes.
- Make Dressing: Whisk olive oil, lemon juice, honey, mustard, saffron infusion, salt, and pepper.
- Toast Walnuts: Toast walnuts in a dry skillet until fragrant (3-4 minutes).
- Arrange Pears: Arrange pear slices on a serving plate.
- Add Cheese: Sprinkle crumbled cheese over pears.
- Drizzle Dressing: Drizzle dressing evenly over salad.
- Garnish & Serve: Garnish with walnuts and mint; serve immediately.
