buff chick dip recipe
- Total Time: 35 minutes
- Yield: 8–10 servings 1x
- Diet: General
Description
This creamy, spicy Buffalo Chicken Dip is a family-friendly crowd-pleaser, perfect for game day or a satisfying weeknight appetizer, featuring tender chicken, tangy buffalo sauce, and melted cheese. It’s a versatile and budget-smart comfort food that comes together quickly.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 225 g cream cheese, softened
- 0.5 cup buffalo-style hot sauce
- 0.5 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
- 1 cup shredded cheese (sharp cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
- 0.25 cup fresh green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Prep Chicken: Shred about 2 cups of cooked chicken until it is fluffy and ready.
- Combine Base: In a large mixing bowl, beat 225 g (8 oz) softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add Flavors: Stir in 120 ml (0.5 cup) buffalo-style hot sauce and 120 ml (0.5 cup) ranch or blue cheese dressing. Mix these well until combined.
- Fold in Cheese and Chicken: Gently fold in 120 g (1 cup) shredded cheese and the shredded chicken. Stir until evenly distributed.
- Bake or Microwave: Spread into an 8×8 inch baking dish. Bake at 190 degrees C (375 degrees F) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden on top. For a quicker fix, microwave in a microwave-safe bowl for 3-5 minutes, stirring halfway, until hot and melted.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle generously with sliced fresh green onions. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.
Notes
For a lighter version, use reduced-fat ingredients and serve with veggie sticks. To make it kid-approved, reduce buffalo sauce and add more ranch or a touch of honey. If the dip is too thick, loosen with a splash of milk or more dressing. Rotisserie chicken or canned chicken (drained) are great time-saving shortcuts.
